Senior Housing Services Announces Major Alexander County Land Sale

A 213.5-acre Lake Hickory waterfront assemblage in Alexander County, North Carolina, was sold for a planned Taylor Morrison community of nearly 500 homes and townhomes.

Transaction Overview

Senior Housing Services represented the landowners in the sale of one of the largest undeveloped land tracts on the Catawba River chain of lakes. The site is located in the Bethlehem community of Alexander County, just north of Hickory and approximately one hour from Charlotte.

Taylor Morrison plans to develop the property as an Esplanade community with nearly 500 homes and townhomes. While not age-restricted, Esplanade communities are designed to appeal strongly to active-adult and empty-nester buyers.

The closing followed approximately five years of work and planning by SHS Managing Principal Dan Owens and the ownership group.

“This land closing is the culmination of five years of work and planning for one of the largest undeveloped land tracts on the Catawba River chain of lakes.”

Dan Owens · Senior Housing Services

“Dan knows the active adult market better than anybody I know. I knew he could see the vision and successfully market the site.”
